much has happened in the development of our little lady since we posted the video of her first-ever rolling over. here’s a brief summary of recent events:

1) she learned how to say “da-da” : we were up in orangevale at grandpa geoff’s house celebrating auntie carerra’s 21st birthday when it happened, and it was witnessed by almost all of us, including great-grandma joan! luckily she said it again on video shortly after, so we are able to share the awesomeness with the internet and all of you.

daddy also took some wonderful pictures of ellie playing with her grandpa geoff.

2) she cut her first tooth! : after a few days of a little extra fussiness and drooling like a leaky faucet, we noticed a tiny break in ellie’s lower gums. about a week later, it’s still too hard to see in pictures, but there is definitely a tooth poking out. more specifically, it’s her lower central incisor. hooray for teeth!

3) and last but not least, she went in the pool! : ryan took monday off, which gave us the perfect opportunity to take ellie over to the pool for her first swim while it was relatively empty. she looked absolutely adorable in the bathing suit i bought for her a few months back, although it’s already a little too tight ;)

overall, she seemed to enjoy herself. she didn’t really smile much in the water, perhaps because she was a little unsure of it, but she certainly didn’t hate it!

and of course we’ll come up with any excuse to put her in the super-cute pink hat :)
