“ellie, can you say ‘tannenbaum’?”

daddy & ellie

yesterday afternoon the lack family went out and bought a christmas tree, a beautiful 7-foot-tall douglas fir that ryan had a hell of a time carrying up the stairs. we put ellie down and strung the lights in what took a little more time than usual because TARGET LIGHTS SUCK NEVER BUY THEM one strand kept going out and one bulb in particular kept illuminating like E.T.’s finger. once we had it all figured out, ryan went into video game mode and i hung the ornaments. i’m thinking ellie can help next year when she’s not so interested in eating the decorations ;)

i was a little concerned about her reaction/attraction to the tree and all the goodies around it. i had mentally prepared myself to spend days – if not weeks – dragging her away from it and repeating NO! over and over until she got the idea. this morning, though, to my surprise, she gave it a quick glance and went straight to her toys. apparently it takes more than just a tree to impress her!

    How lovely are your branches!!!

Don’t worry…the ornament-ripping-off-the-tree game will probably gain momentum next year ;)
