color me mine

May 9th, 2010 | Posted by Bryn

last saturday we went to a pottery painting studio in lafayette called color me mine, but we couldn’t blog about it until now because we made presents for ellie’s grandmas!

playing w/ a balloon

it turns out ellie’s a little too young to paint on small objects without making a huge mess (duh), but we attempted to get her handprints on a couple of mugs with the help of a nice girl in an apron.

once she had her painted hand on the mug, all she wanted to do was wiggle her fingers, which is why the prints look … a little funny. but she tried her best, we had lots of fun in the process, and we know her grandmas are going to love their special mother’s day mugs :)

we really enjoyed color me mine and look forward to taking ellie again when she’s a little older :)

I <3 Color Me Mine!!!! I want to take Kailyn there for her birthday this year and let her paint something. I think she will finally be old enough to handle it. Ellie did a wonderful job (you too Bryn). Hope the grandmas loved them!

My college roommate Farran worked at Color Me Mine, and some of my happiest undergrad memories were made there. I love Ellie's contributions to the mugs, they look fantastic. Happy Mother's Day Bryn!
